Yamaha Crosses 10 Million Units Production in India.

Yamaha India has achieved 10 million units production milestone in India.

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt Ltd announced the production achievement of 10 million units in India. The company achieved this feat since it began its operations in India in 1985. Yamaha has rolled out 10 millionth product at this ceremony was Yamaha's best-selling motorcycle model FZS-FI Version 3.0 from its Chennai factory. Currently, Yamaha has three manufacturing facilities at Surajpur, Faridabad and Chennai jointly contributed to the overall production of the company till date.

Yamaha's first 1 million unit production milestone was achieved in 1999. In 2012, the 5 Million units production was reached at the same factory. Among the 10 million total productions, 5 million units were produced alone in the last seven years between 2012 and 2019. 80 percent units were manufactured at Surajpur & Faridabad facility and 20 percent units were manufactured at the Chennai facility.

Yamaha launched its first scooter model Ray in 2012 and the scooter lineup has helped the company to achieve this feat. Motorcycles contributed 77.88 lakh units while the scooters contributed to 22.12 lakh units till date. Currently, Yamaha sells over a dozen products including entry-level commuters, scooters, premium motorcycles and even sports motorcycles in India.
