Tata Nexon EV Revealed Ahead Of Launch.

Tata Motors has unveiled the Nexon EV in India.

Tata Motors has been unveiled the Nexon EV in India. Based on the Nexon facelift, the Nexon EV gets subtle changes in the design department. At the front where the Nexon gets most changes with a new grille, bumper and a new headlamp cluster. From the side, the Nexon EV looks identical to the outgoing model except for the newly designed alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets a slightly reworked tail light along with new bumper as well.

The Nexon EV will be offered in three variants - XZ+ LUX, XZ+ (both in 2 tones) and XM (in single tone). The SUV will also be offered in three colours -  Signature Teal Blue colour, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White. Scheduled to be launched in January 2020, the Nexon EV is expected to be priced between INR 15 to 17 Lakhs.

The Nexon Ev also comes with a 7 inch Harman infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with 35 other mobile app-based connected features.

The Nexon EV is equipped with the company's new Ziptron technology and it makes 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor produces 245 Nm of instant torque from a standstill. Tata Motors claims that the Nexon EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds. The EV comes with a waterproof battery pack which meets IP67 standards.

The Nexon EV comes with two drive modes including drive and sport. While the gear selector has given in the form of a rotary knob. Tata Motors claims a range of more than 300 kms on a single charge. The company also claims to replenish 80% battery capacity within 60 minutes through the fast DC charger. In addition, the Nexon EV can be charged from any 15 amp plug point.

Tata Motors offers a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 kms on battery and motor.
