Hyundai has unveiled the name of its upcoming sub-compact sedan.

Hyundai has been working on a sub-four meter sedan since a while now and it has spotted testing in the Indian roads for multiple times. For now, the South Korean automaker has officially revealed the name of its upcoming sub-four meter sedan and it will be named Aura.

The word Aura is inspired by the ‘Vibrance of Positivity’ and ‘Spirit to Go the Distance’. The Aura might replace the Xcent sedan in India and the new one is expected to share most of its design elements from the recently launched Grand i10 Nios. The Auro will feature the same cascading grille and the interiors too have a resemblance from the hatchback.

The Aura is expected to come with the same engines as the Grand i10 Nios. BS6 compliant versions of both the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine the U2 1.2-litre diesel powertrain will be offered. Apart from the manual transmission, an AMT is also likely to be on offer. Once it is launched in India, it will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dezire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
