Rebadged Maruti Baleno has been launched in India.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been launched the Glanza premium hatchback in India, it is priced from Rs. 7.22 to 8.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Glanza is the first product from the Suzuki-Toyota partnership, which was signed a few months ago. The company offers a standard 3 years/1 lakh Kms warranty, which can be extended upto 5 year/2.2lakhs kms.
The Glanza remains pretty much same as the Baleno, except for a few changes including a new front grille with dual chrome lines and a new Toyota badge. Even on the interior, it gets the same dashboard, air-con vents and the infotainment as the Baleno and only change is made on the steering wheel with a Toyota badging.
Other features such as the LED projector headlamps with DRLs, diamond cut alloy wheels and a smart infotainment system are carried forward. In terms of safety, the vehicle gets dual-airbags with ABS and EBD as standard, the Glanza also gets other features such as the TECT Body [Total Effective Control Technology], ISOFIX child seat mounts and a reverse parking camera.
The Glanza is coming with two engine options, one is the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine produces 83 BHP at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. The second one is the Smart-Hybrid engine produces 90 BHP at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM, both engines are comes mated with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT gearbox.
