2019 Renault Kwid has been launched in India.
Renault has been launched the facelifted Kwid in India, it is priced at Rs. 2.83 lakhs for the 0.8-litre Standard variant and goes up to Rs. 4.84 lakhs for the Climber AMT variant (prices are ex-showroom). The new Kwid features a sleek-looking LED DRLs along with nicely surrounded turn indicators and it also features a new layout for the front, which houses the headlamps below the DRLs.
The side profile of the new Kwid features an SUV-inspired design with wheel arch claddings, side decals, new 14-inch volcano grey muscular multi-spoke wheels on the higher trim and a dual-tone glossy ORVMs as well, while the rear gets a redesigned tail lamps. The new Kwid is available in six colour options – Zanskar Blue, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue.
On the interior, the new Kwid features a dual-tone dashboard and chrome interior accents, a new 8-inch infotainment system with reverse parking camera, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The new Kwid also carries the instrument cluster from the new Triber, while the top-spec Climber variant also features a new steering wheel as well.
In terms of safety, the new Kwid comes with a driver-side airbag with an option of a passenger-side airbag, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), driver and co-driver seat belt reminders, over-speed alert and rear parking sensors standard across all variants. In addition, the AMT variants come equipped with the traffic assist which helps the vehicle to crawl forward in slow-moving traffic and prevents it from rolling back on slopes.
The new Kwid carries the same 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engines as before. the 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder engine churns out 53 BHP at 5678 RPM and 72 Nm of torque at 4386 RPM, it comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. While the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine churns out 67 BHP at 5500 RPM and 91 Nm of torque at 4250 RPM, it comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optional AMT.
The new Kwid comes with a 4 year or 1 lakh km warranty and offers 24X7 roadside assistance at no extra cost. This includes the regular 2 years or 50,000 km comprehensive warranty along with a complimentary additional 2 years or 50,000 km extended warranty.
The new Kwid will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Datsun Redi-Go and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10.
