Renaut Kwid has achieved 3 lakh sales milestone in India.
Renault India launched the entry-level hatchback in India in 2015 and it has now successfully reached 3 lakh units sales in India. The Kwid was a game-changing product for the company and became an instant success.
The Kwid was first launched in 0.8-litre engine, later it got a 1.0-litre engine and an AMT as well. The 0.8-litre 799cc, 3-cylinder, petrol engine churns out 54 BHP and 74 Nm of torque with a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17 kmpl and this engine comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. While the 1.0-litre, 999cc, 3-cylinder engine produces slightly more power at 67 BHP and 91 Nm of torque, it is mated with a 5-speed manual and AMT as an option, while the claimed fuel efficiency is 24.04 kmpl.
Renault currently working on multiple products for India including a facelift version of the Kwid and Duster along with a compact MPV called 'Triber'. The facelifted Kwid will comply with upcoming emission and safety norms. The French maker also working on an electric version of the Kwid, which will hit the market soon.
