Maruti Suzuki has been bringing CNG variants of its existing vehicles for a while now. The company has now introduced the CNG variant of the popular Ertiga MPV and the taxi model.
Maruti Suzuki has been bringing CNG variants of its existing vehicles for a while now. The company has now introduced the CNG variant of the popular Ertiga MPV and the taxi model, the Ertiga M. Former one is priced at Rs. 8.88 lakhs while the latter one is priced at Rs. 8.83 lakhs (ex-showroom India) respectively.
Based on the VXi trim, the Ertiga CNG carries all the features from its petrol counterpart. The Ertiga CNG comes equipped with safety features such as dual airbags, high-speed warning alert, front seat belt with pre-tensioners and force limiters, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, ABS with EBD and brake assist and reverse parking sensors as standard fitment. The vehicle also features a dual-tone interior features a sculpted dashboard with maple wood finish and chrome accents, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, steering-mounted controls and reclinable third-row seats.
The Ertiga CNG gets the 1.5-litre, K15 engine, which puts out 105 BHP and 138 Nm of torque on the petrol model, while the CNG variant puts out 92 BHP and 122 Nm of torque, it is comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, the company claims a mileage of 26.20 km/kg. Unlike the petrol-powered variant, the CNG variant misses out the SHVS smart hybrid system engine option.
Maruti Suzuki will also bring a 6-seater version of the Ertiga which will be launched on 21st August 2019. Unlike the standard one, the 6-seater version will be sold through the company's NEXA dealerships.
