MG has launched its first SUV Hector in India.
MG Hector has been launched in India, comes at an introductory price of Rs. 12.18 lakhs to 16.88 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV is available in four variants - Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. It comes with 3 engine options - Petrol, Petrol Hybrid and Diesel.
The MG Hector comes equipped with a bunch first in class features such as a 10.4-inch touchscreen with iSMART and also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity options. The SUV also features LED daytime running lights, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, cruise control, electrically adjustable front seats and heated ORVMs, electronic stability program(ESP), traction control system (TCS), hill hold control, rear disk brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, cornering front fog lamps ,front parking sensors, 6-airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, speed warning alert, ABS, EBD and Brake Assist.
The Hector's 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine churns out 143 PS power and 250 Nm of peak torque, it comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission along with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as an option, while the mild-hybrid provides an extra torque of 20 Nm over the turbocharged petrol engine. The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine churns out 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Both hybrid petrol and the diesel engines are only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the MG Hector delivers an ARAI claimed efficiency figure of 15.81 kmpl for the hybrid-petrol, 14.16 kmpl for the turbocharged petrol manual, 13.96 kmpl for the turbocharged petrol automatic and 17.41 kmpl for the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
Pre-bookings for the MG Hector has begun on June 4. Deliveries have been slated from the first week of July through its network of 120 centres across the country, the British carmaker aims to expand further to 250 centres by September this year.
The MG Hector offers 5-years/unlimited kilometre warranty along with roadside assistance. The MG Hector will go up against the likes of Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and the upcoming Kia Seltos in the Indian market.
