Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV will be launched in India in May 2019.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has unveiled the Venue subcompact SUV in India along with its global debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. The Venue will be positioned between the i20 Active and Creta in Hyundai's India lineup.



The Venue measures 3995 mm of length, 1770 mm of width, 1590 mm of height and 2500 mm of wheelbase. The compact SUV will go up against the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3OO, Ford Ecosport, and Honda WR-V.


The Venue is a feature loaded car gets chrome finished grill, projector headlamp, LED DRL, LED tail lamps, projector fog lamps and cornering lights, cruise control, air purifier, electric sunroof, wireless charger, Arkamys sound speaker and a cooled glovebox. The compact SUV also features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with Hyundai's 'Blue Link' connectivity with over 33 connect car features, 10 of them are India specific.



The Venue will get three powertrain options including two petrol and one diesel powertrains, two of them will be shared with the i20. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 83 BHP and 115 Nm of torque, it would be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4-litre diesel churns out 90 BHP and 220 Nm of torque, it would be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the 1.0-litre, direct injected, turbo petrol would produce 120 BHP and 172 Nm of torque, this engine will come mated with a 6-speed manual as well as a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
