Hyundai has launched its first EV, the Kona Electric in India.
Hyundai has been launched the Electric Kona in India, prices start from RS. 25.30 Lakhs. Kona Electric is the first fully electric vehicle for the company. In terms of size, it sits between the Creta and the Venue. The Kona Electric is available in 4 colours - Marina Blue, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver and Polar White. Hyundai also offers dual-tone white with black roof and it costs an additional Rs. 20,000 over the single-tone colour option.
In terms of design, the Kona Electric gets different from conventional petrol or diesel cars. At the front, it gets a slim LED DRLs along with a low-mounted projector headlamp along with a body coloured single-piece bumper. At the rear it gets sleek looking LED tail light along with bumper mounted rear fog lamps.
On the inside, The Kona Electric gets a 7-inch instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated ORVMs, electric sunroof, front heated or ventilated seats, reverse parking camera, etc.
In terms of safety, the Kona Electric gets 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, all 4 disc brakes and reverse parking sensors.
The Hyundai Kona Electric gets a 39.2 kWh battery pack and it produces136 HP along with 395 Nm of peak torque with an ARAI certified range of 452 km on a single charge. It can hit the 0-100 km speed in just 9.7 seconds. The battery takes 57 minutes for 0-80% charging from the 50 kW DC fast charger, while the standard AC charger takes 6 hours 10 minutes. The Kona offers in 3 drive modes - Eco, Comfort and Sport.
The Hyundai Kona Electric comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited km, while the battery has a warranty of 8 years/1.6 lakhs km.
