Honda has been started bookings for its new sports middleweight motorcycle the CBR650R in India. Bookings have been started at Honda's ‘Wing World’ dealerships across 22 cities for an amount of Rs. 15,000. The CBR650R replaces CBR650F under Honda’s sports middleweight line up in India, the bike will be priced under just Rs 8 lakh.
The CBR650R receives most of its design cues from the larger sibling CBR1000RR Fireblade, apart of the new design it's also got a full LED headlight and LCD display with a Gear Position and Shift-Up indicator. The CBR650R’s chassis is also 6kgs lighter than its predecessor. The CBR650R will be available in two colours - Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
The CBR650R comes with an adjustable 41 mm Showa Separate Fork Function (SFF) USD forks up front and a mono shock unit at the rear. The motorcycle comes equipped with dual radial-mount calipers for the front a single-piston caliper at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard.
The new CBR650R comes equipped with a reworked 649 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC 16-valve, in-line four-cylinder engine churns 94 HP at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm at 8500 rpm. The bike continues to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes with an assist/slipper clutch. The bike will compete against other middleweight motorcycles including the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Street Triple S and Suzuki GSX-S750 in India.
