Honda has released a teaser image of the updated Jazz hatchback.
Honda has been released a teaser image of the popular hatchback Jazz and likely to be launched in the coming weeks. Honda has launched the new generation of the Jazz in Japan earlier this year. However, Honda will not bring the new model to India at least for now. Instead, Honda will update the current-gen Jazz which has been on sale since a while now.
The teaser image does give a hint about the new Jazz and the overall design of the car remains unchanged. The new Jazz is expected to come with revised styling along with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The new Jazz is expected to receive some feature additions as well.
The updated Honda Jazz will come with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines. Both engines will be BS6 compliant and will likely to make a similar amount of power figures as it's BS4 counterpart. The 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine puts out 90 PS and 110 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel makes 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
The Baleno rival offered in a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optional CVT with the petrol engine, while the diesel engine comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. Claimed fuel economy for the petrol manual is 19 kmpl and 18.2 kmpl for the CVT. While the diesel engine has an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 27.3 kmpl.
Prices for the Honda Jazz start at Rs. 7.45 lakhs for the petrol and 8.17 lakhs for the diesel (prices are ex-showroom New Delhi). There will be a price hike of Rs. 20,000/- for the BS6 petrol model, while the BS6 diesel model likely to get a hike of Rs. 50,000/-.
