Updated Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has been launched in India, priced from Rs. 2.93 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki has updated its entry-level model the Alto 800 in India, priced at Rs. 2.93-3.71 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle comes minor update at the front including a redesigned bumper and grill along with new sharp looking headlamp unit. On the interior, it gets a new dual-tone dashboard and seats and a new infotainment system, which is called Smart Play Dock. The Smart Play Dock features Bluetooth connectivity as well.

Apart from the new updates the Alto 800 now comes with new safety features, including a reverse parking camera, driver side airbag, speed alert system and seat belt reminder for both the passengers at the front. The car also features Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution System (EBD) as well, all these safety features come standard across all the variant.

The new Alto now comes with BSVI compliant engine, nearly a year before the regulation being mandated. The Alto has been India’s best-selling car for 15 consecutive years with cumulative sales of over 3.7 million since launch in 2000.

Powering the new Alto 800 is a 796 cc, three-cylinder petrol engine produces 47 HP at 6000 rpm and 69 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm, which comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is BSVI compliant, produces lesser Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) in vehicular emission.
